Context

A GCCA GCC government entity had an ambitious vision to transform itself and become a leading organization in its sector across the country. The target was set to employ talented resources and capabilities, actively contribute to the country’s national strategies, and achieve top ranks in the government’s organizational excellence index.

The Ask

Pace Consulting was requested to provide its professional support to manage the overall business transformational journey. Our consultants were expected to address challenges of outdated strategy, ambiguous relations with key sector players in the country, along with multiple organizational and functional concerns. Accordingly, we were asked to setup and operate a Transformation Management Office for 2 years in order to lead and orchestrate the transformation across several institutional components.

What We Did

We started by putting in place the foundation of the TMO and the transformation journey. This included the following:

  • Setting up the TMO to directly support the Director General in driving the transformation. This entailed developing the functional structure, manpower requirements, the operating procedures, and conducting necessary awareness sessions.
  • Developing the transformation plan and prioritizing it across various dimensions in collaboration with the internal teams in light of the leadership’s strategic direction.

Once the TMO setup was in place, we commenced the transformation journey over the course of the next two years covering the following:

Outcomes

The transformation has been an institutional and cultural change experience for the whole organization. Throughout the transformation journey, success was built on success, and momentum grew to a level where the organization was operating at an optimal level, allowing us to fully hand over and phase out after achieving the targets set out at the beginning. This entity, within 2 years only, was awarded for its exceptional improvement as part of the government excellence index and gained prestigious recognition for the best-improving entity in the country.
